Vintage Comics: Blue Bolt Weird Tales #116: The Ghostly Guardians, The Weird Mr. & Mrs. Murder; Deathc Danger, and Deceit (Cover - Pg. 15)

 No excuses. I watched the debates tonight and am rushing for an entry before bed - - so comics today, commentary tomorrow.

Vintage Comics: "Beware! Terror Tales!" Issue 6; The House of Death, Strange Friendship, Search into the Unknown (Pg. 16 - End)

 With little time left to meet tonight's deadline, I'm going to go ahead and post the rest of this issue. Commentary to be added in tomorrow!

Edit: I always keep my promise. The first story is very Tell-Tale Heart, with greed playing more of a role in the character's motivation rather than simple irritation or seeds of madness. I think I prefer this darker punishment for the villain, however. The second story implies something a little stronger than friendship between two murderous mummies. Finally, our third story reminds us that being an annoying tourist has its price. I'm not referring to the overpriced plaster reproductions either.

Vintage Comics: Do You Believe in Nightmares #1, 'The Champ', 'You Can Make Me Fly', 'The Man Who Crashed Into Another Era', 'I Am Being Followed' (Pg. 20 - End)

 Wrapping up this issue, I'm trying my best to be as positive as I can about these stories, but I just feel like the writers are teasing me here. The Champ did not have the ending I'd have preferred, as I'm always going to lean towards the darker option when it's available. Ghost fake-outs are just the worst. Incidentally the inventor's flying machine - - I won't comment on what that looks like, but I refuse to believe the artist didn't know exactly what he was doing. The third story would likely have me taking this comic to a trash can if it were newer (not vintage) and not digital. Another fake-out! Ah well. At least the comic title is somewhat accurate. They're all nightmares. The final story wraps it all up with a big 'meh'.

Vintage Comics: Do You Believe in Nightmares #1, 'Nightmare', 'The Somnambulist', 'The Strange Silence' (Cover - Pg. 19)

 Going with some lighter fare today, 'Do You Believe in Nightmares' maybe should have been something more along the lines of 'Do You Have Mildly Upsetting Dreams?' While the stories in this one aren't terribly dark or original, the line art is fairly decent. I don't have a lot to say on these early stories, but I do believe the latter part of the issue gets a little more entertaining.
