Featured Kickstarter: Black Dog Devil

In a quaint 1950s town in rural Indiana, a witches coven was interrupted at the height of evil, and a curse was born. For 25 years, the curse was all but forgotten, until a Stranger walked in out of the rain one October night, and this once-sleepy town will never be the same...

- Dusty Crosley

Horror is an ever-evolving monster (pun aside), and one can't help but think how well the genre suits just about every format, from print, to screen, to art, projection, radio, music, etcetera. I don't think there has ever been a time when the genre had so much innovation or incredible variety as we're seeing today. When I found this kickstarter, my breath was taken away by the eery beauty of the pictures in the video above. Frankly, I think you would be doing your self a disservice by not checking this project out.

Interested? Swing on over to the kickstarter page and help bring the first issue this gorgeous graphic series to life. Or, is that 'unlife'?

Featured Kickstarter: The House on Forest Drive

"Stand By Me" meets "Evil Dead 2" in the 1980's throwback feature "The House On Forest Drive" a raw blend that mixes coming of age nostalgia with over the top violence and gore, a real B-rate Bloodbath of enjoyment, with plenty demon bashing BMX action, what's not to love.

- Mitch Morse

The 80s is back in a big way, thanks to Stranger Things. I'd like to welcome our campy overlords of horror back to their proper place, but in order to do that...well, some awesome new creators are going to need help to get there. This one in particular sounds like just the sort of thing to get started with. Let's make horror films fun again, the protagonists likable, and the gore entertaining. That's exactly what I thought of when I discovered this kickstarter project, and that's what I hope you, the readers think, as well.

Sound like the sort of project you'd like to get behind? Then please check it out and do what you can to see it become a delightfully destructive reality.

Featured Kickstarter: Frank & Zed

I think it's fair to say I am a HUGE puppet/muppet fan. I just love them. Some day when I find the time, buy the materials, and have enough friends interested in the project, I'd like to make a horror anthology series using only muppets...but until then, I'll just keep watching awesome muppet-puppet films...and also suggesting you check out this INCREDIBLE kickstarter. This is seriously one of the BEST-LOOKING kickstarter projects I've ever seen, and my heart will ultimately be torn to pieces...in a bad way...if it doesn't happen.

For more information about this epic movie...please check it out on kickstarter, and definitely consider helping them make it a reality.

Horror Kickstarter: Squib

As an aspiring filmmaker, I'm always on the lookout for awesome-looking Kickstarter projects related to horror. This week, I stumbled upon a small project with an intriguing plot: independent filmmakers trying to make a low budget slasher film end up 'cutting corners' to get their movie made. But let the director tell you about it.

As you know, the best bit about Kickstarter is that there are usually some pretty awesome gifts offered to anybody contributing to the project. Squib is no exception, and I encourage anybody who has a bit of extra cash and the desire to see independent filmmaking thrive to maybe swing by the kickstarter page for Squib and toss in a couple bucks.
